Obituary
Thomas Edward O’Fallon, loving known as “Tom or Bubba”, born July 8, 1941, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 after a several year battle with prostate cancer. He was just shy of his 74th birthday. Survivors include his loving wife Nancy Lee Phillips and 7 daughters and their families: Shannon Bowerman, Tacoma, WA; Phoebe and Dave Chenoweth and Morgan, Madison, and Mia, Plano, TX; Dawn and Damon Laird and Cameron and Ashley, Monroe, WA; Marcy and Jim Duckworth and Trace and Mary Elaina, West Palm Beach, FL, Colleen and Damon Stewart and Emma Fallon and Owen Thomas, Mill Creek, WA; Heather and Kelly Devlin, Bellingham, WA; and Ashlee and Ian Jameyson and Maddy and Beau Thomas, Buckley, WA; sister, Mary Oberhelman, Omaha, N.E., brothers; Steve and Kathy O’Fallon, Keller, TX, and Mike Phillips Sr., Plano, Texas. Tom and Nancy were delivered by the same Doctor and graduated from Mason City High School in Iowa in 1959. Tom went on to graduate from Iowa State University where he was a loyal member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1963 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and then accepted an offer from The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA. In 1989 Tom and Nancy independently decided to attend their 30th high school reunion and decided they liked each other better than in 1959. They were married on September 21, 1990,” when 2 became 1”. Tom worked for Boeing for 36 years and retired in 1999. His favorite job was being the plant manager, “Team Based” at the Boeing Aerospace and Defense Plant in Corinth, Texas .Before moving to Corinth, he enjoyed farming Blueberries in Kent, WA in his spare time. He also lived in Maple Valley. He retired in Plano, TX where he continued to “engineer” projects for loved ones, mostly for his grandkids! Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay for a while and leave foot prints on our hearts … and we are never the same. Memorials may be sent to Make-A-Wish-Foundation in his honor. Tom was a good man and I am sorry to hear of his passing. I offer my condolences to his family. I tremendously enjoyed his presence at Boeing Corinth.
To Nancy and the family. Tom was loved and respected by so many of our Boeing Corinth team. Even after retirement, he stayed in touch with us. The email Tom wrote to us was heart warming and filled with memories when the building in Corinth was bought by a local church. Rest in peace with God, Tom. We will miss you here.
Nancy and family – Tom (and you too Nancy) will always have a special place in the hearts of the Boeing-Corinth family. Tom’s smile and constant caring will forever be remembered. RIP Tom – you were amazing to work with!!
My condolences and deepest sympathies to Tom’s family.. Tom was always a kind, down-to-earth manager at Boeing, Corinth. There are so many of us who were blessed to have worked for him that will never forget him. He was one of the reasons the rest of us have such wonderful memories.
Having worked with Tom the whole time he was with Boeing in Corinth I can honestly say there was never a Plant Manager who cared more for the people that worked there. He was the best of the best. Even the people who still work there who never met Tom have heard of him from the Team that worked with him. Tom made an impact on everyone who worked there.
Rest in Peace my Friend
Mike
My deepest sympathies to all who loved and respected this outstanding gentleman. Tom was, in my opinion the best leader Boeing Corinth ever had. I feel blessed to have worked with him.
