Hellestad, Larry
Obituary
Larry Hellestad, age 60, of Dallas, Texas died June 17, 2015 peacefully in his home surrounded by his friend and caregiver, Mickey, hospice, and his chaplain after a brave battle against multiple sclerosis. He was born January 27, 1955 to Lee and June Hellestad in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Larry moved to Dallas and graduated from the University of Texas, Dallas with a degree in political science. He had two careers. The first being a retail sales and the second optical services. Ask him about most any subject and he would astound you with details or give you the history of some event or artifact that you have never heard before. His interests stretched from music, film, politics, growing peace lilies, collecting crystal vases and more. He always tried to attend family and friend’s weddings, funerals, and graduations. He is survived by his brothers, Perry and Randy and his sisters, Donna and Jill as well as his friends, Vangy, Amanda, Feleshia, Mickey, and Bryan. We will miss this crotchety curmudgeon. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to www.StarrReaders.com in Larry’s Honor. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700

I met Larry through one of his close friends, Vangy. He was a fun-loving person with a quick wit. So sorry this disease ended your life much too soon!!
Thanks for thirty years of friendship. Will miss you especially when the presidential campaign gets real heated. Who am I to argue with? and who will go with me to see Woody Allen movies? Rest in peace my friend.
