How sad. I didn’t know Wayne all that well back in the day. But he came to mind today as I saw an old video of the Beatles with of course Ringo Starr. I remember that Wayne looked so much like Ringo when we were young. I recall once at some sort of fan event Wayne appeared in the upper rows of the auditorium and the girls all went mad with excitement. I took to getting a bagel whenever near his family shop so that I could see Wayne. Sorry to learn of Wayne’s death.
Today,it’s been 5 years and everyday, I realize that there will not EVER be another Wayne. I miss you and Rest Well Eternally.
Wayne was my roommate in college! I remember one day we drove down to Nuevo Laredo from Austin to buy mass quantities of leather wristbands and fringe leather jackets for Wayne to sell on the drag. When we entered the marketplace of souvenirs the mariachi music changed abruptly to the Beatles and all eyes were on Wayne with accompanying smiles! Rest In Peace dear friend. Bruce Friedman
