I'm just seeing the news. I absolutely loved Mr. Wimpy! He was such a beautiful spirit when I was in high school. I looked forward and hoped he would be my substitute teacher. His thumb tricks to his war stories was like learning history every time and he always kept us smiling. He will be dearly missed. My prayers and condolences to the family.

Mr. Wimpy,

What a man! No substitute teacher received more respect than him. It was a honor to have him in your class and only one could be so lucky. He was such a nice and respectful man but also a very funny man. I pray for his family and I know he will be looking after them. Rest easy Mr. Wimpy.

I'm sorry for your lost. Mr. Wimpy was an amazing, funny, and good heart teacher as well as a human being. You can see through him he had a kind heart yet so young he would pull out with his magic tricks and his quarters that he collected through the years. I can remember him just like it was a few days ago I meet him for the very first time. Rip ..will be missed

I'm saddened by the news. I had the pleasure to be one of Mr. Wimpy's students while he substituted at Dulles High School. I remember how he would greet everyone of us with a smile. His positivity was infectious. I loved hearing about his old war stories. Little did he know that his stories and great energy was a huge impact on our lives. After a day with him, I would just be filled with joy regardless of anything I was feeling that day. I never had the chance to say this, but thank you so much and you surely will be missed.

Mr. Wimpy was the kind of guy who saw everyone for the good they are. He connected with each of his students and emerged as a teacher to all - even though he was a substitute teacher- he was the best one we ever had. You are missed Mr. Wimpy. You are such a nice good man. God bless.
