Merle and I first met at CHC in Dallas, but we soon realized we had a great deal in common. Both of us were from Virginia, and both had graduated from women’s colleges in that state. Her college and major were more demanding than mine. She was a very intelligent woman and a leader. We both, however, enjoyed small Episcopal churches where vestments and sins were black and white. She worked in the church as a leader of the women’s group, helped with summer Bible School, and was in charge of the Chrismon project for the church tree, overseeing the stitchery work needed. She loved her family and her faith was deep. “Death is the (her) next great adventure.” (Rowling)
Evy & myself have known Merle for well over 20 years. Words alone at this time do not reflect our sincere feelings and love for her.A
more sincere and loving person you would not find. She will remain in our hearts & soul forever with the knowledge we will some day meet again. May she rest in peace.
