Obituary
Warren C Enstrom passed away peacefully Thursday February 21, 2013 in Dallas Texas. Born in Bovey Minnesota, January 26, 1915 to Eric and Esther Enstrom, he was the 3rd of 6 children. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Forestry degree, he enlisted into the US Army, completing officers school as a 2nd Lieutenant. As a Captain he participated in the invasion of Europe with the 160th Combat Engineer Battalion, a part of General George Patton’s 3rd army in 1944. After the war, as a construction engineer in Dallas, he assisted in the building of the Southland Life Bldg and Las Colinas. Warren was active in Boy Scout Troop 64 as a merit badge councilor and a long time member of Hella Shrine Temple. A champion for the less fortunate, Warren never met a stranger and he enchanted all he knew with humorous life stories, enthusiasm for the outdoors, and generosity. He was Lakewood Blvd’s “grandfather” to children and families. All will dearly miss him. His loving wife of 46 years Mary Virginia, one brother and 4 sisters precede him in death. He is survived by two Sons and a daughter-in-law Eric Enstrom and John and Patty Enstrom, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grand children. Memorial service will be held at the North Ridge Presbyterian Church Saturday March 2nd at 10:00 AM. 6920 Bob-O-Links Da TX 75214. Internment following at 1:00 PM Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park 7505 NW Highway, Dallas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital or North Ridge Presbyterian Church.
