William Eugene (“Butch”) Brumbelow was born on July 11, 1942 in Tyler, Texas and passed away on December 31, 2015 in Carrollton, Texas. Butch was a proud member of the Chapel Hill community. He graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1960. Each of his children also attended and graduated from Chapel Hill schools during which time Butch enjoyed serving as a member of the Chapel Hill School Board. Two of his greatest passions were working with the teachers and administrators at Chapel Hill ISD and cheering on the Bulldogs in high school football. Along with his father, J.C. Brumbelow, Butch was the owner of B&W Concrete Construction Company. He was a Mason and a member of Sharon Shrine Temple and the Sharon Temple Motor Corp. Butch was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Carl “J.C.” Brumbelow, his mother, Elaine Shelley Brumbelow, his brother, Jimmy Brumbelow and his sister, Sonia Rakestraw. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay Walters Brumbelow, his children, Betsy Power, Belle Joyner, Joe Brumbelow and Bonnie Dearmore, his siblings, Maryann Scudder, Dick Brumbelow, Trudy Hardman and Joe Dan Brumbelow, his sons-in-law, Chris Joyner and Kelly Dearmore, his daughter-in-law, Ashley Brumbelow, and his eight grandchildren, Max Joyner, Cade Joyner, Major Power, Jett Joyner, Kennedy Brumbelow, Cash Dearmore, Addie Brumbelow and Darby Dearmore. Butch’s family wishes to thank the many friends who reached out to them during Butch’s recent hospitalization and subsequent passing. He was well loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
