Obituary
Roger Eugene Waits passed away & is in the Loving-Hands of his Lord & Savior after a lengthy illness. Born 11/17/28 to John and Sybil Waits, Roger is survived by his son Mike & wife Ruth; his daughter Lisa & husband Dave Sidway; and daughter Debbie Waits; grandchildren Tiffany & husband Hung Nguyen, Natalie & husband Michael Mazzola, J. Mike Waits & Scott Sidway. Roger also leaves behind his latest additions to the clan, Great Granddaughters Addyson Mazzola and Jane Nguyen; and Roger’s sister Helen Kirkwood. Roger is preceded in death by his Mother Sybil and Father John Waits, his brother J.D. Waits, his sister Lucille Campbell and her husband Lloyd, and sister Martha Watkins and husband Kenneth. In addition, Roger also leaves behind several family and friends, as he has always been a well-loved mentor to hundreds of recovering AA members. He was a proud 60-year sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Roger was born and raised in Plano, TX; and the DFW area was always his home. He began his career with Fleming & Sons, where he would later retire. He loved to travel prior to his illnesses. Roger will be truly missed by all! A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Methodist Church in Plano, TX Sat., 02/06/16, at 10:00AM, and will be followed by a graveside service at Plano Mutual Cemetery in Plano, TX. Lisa, so sorry about the passing of your dad. You’ve been one of my closest friends for over 40 years. Many hours I spent at your house in Plano. Your dad was also nice to me and made me feel welcome in your home. Lots of great memories. Sending my love to you, Mike and Debbie
