Pavletich, Nick T.

June 19, 1926 - December 22, 2015

Nick T. Pavletich (Nick) was born on June 19, 1926 in Raton New Mexico and peacefully passed away on December 22 in Dallas, Texas. Nick’s parents and his 6 brothers and sisters, George, John, Bob, Mary, Ann and Marty preceded him in death.

Nick is survived by his daughters Carol Conway (husband Kevin) and Cathy Groos (husband Dave). In addition, Nick has 4 grandchildren Kevin Conway Jr. (wife Christine) and Danielle Bloom (husband Tom) children of Carol and Kevin Sr. and Courtney and Travis Groos, children of Cathy and Dave.  Nick has 4 great grandkids, Nicole and Maddie, children of Kevin Jr. and Christine and Mikayla and Gianna children of Danielle and Tom.

Nick’s loves were his family, friends, all things LOBO and The Land of Enchantment.  It was that simple.  Those 4 things always made his life complete. Nick served in the Navy in WWII.  Following the war Nick attended the University of New Mexico, graduating with a degree in business and was a member of The Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

He spent his career at Sandia Labs and Kirtland Air Force Base. The Pit, Popejoy, lunching with the “ROMEOs” (Retired Old Men Eating Out), brunch at the Officer’s Club and traveling to Dallas to spend time to “help raise Courtney and Travis” filled his happy days.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday February 27, 2016 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church 833 Arizona Street SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 with a reception following at 11:30 A.M., 12804 Piru Boulevard SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his memory to Holy Ghost Catholic Church. The entire family is thankful to have been a part of Nick’s “gang” and will carry on his memory by remaining devoted LOBO fans.

One condolence on “Pavletich, Nick T.”

Rick and Marianna Sandoval says:

Kevin and Carol and family,

We were reading the Albuquerque Journal and saw the obituary on our dear friend, Nick. The simple words – “he loved the Lobos and the land of enchantment” was so true and something Nick shared with us. He definitely made us better Lobo fans….

We loved him and will miss him dearly.

Our sincerest sympathies to all of the family.

Rick and Marianna Sandoval

Excellent customer service, they made you feel like you were their only customer. Very helpful and explained what we should expect during the process. They basically took care of our needs during this time. They contacted DFW National Cemetery for us which made it a smooth experience. Definitely will use them again.
