Moore, Thomas Banks

Thomas Banks Moore Jr. passed away peacefully April 25, 2016. He was born December 9, 1934 to Thomas Banks Moore Sr. and Julia Manion Moore in Dallas, Texas. Tom grew up in Southern Georgia and South Carolina and, at the end of WWII, the family moved back to Texas and settled in El Paso where he graduated high School. Tom graduated from Texas Western now known as The University of Texas El Paso with a degree in journalism.

While in college Tom was active in the ROTC program and upon graduation he was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the Signal Corp. and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. While stationed at Fort Hood he met and married his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Stegman, who passed away January 18, 2016. Tom worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 41 years in various management positions. He spent 30 years with Syntex Laboratories as a District Manager, 4 years with MMD as a products manager, and 7 years with PDI as a Regional Manager. Tom retired in 2002.

Tom led an active retirement. He volunteered at the Collin County Free Clinic for a number of years he was also an active member with several food and wine groups including Gourmets Elite, AIWF, The German Wine Society and others. Tom and his wife were also members of several collectors groups in the Dallas and Plano area.

Tom is survived by his sons, Robert Thomas and Mark Christopher, his brother, Joseph Gary Moore, and many lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Catholic church in Plano, Texas on May 10, 2016 at 10:30 A.M.
