I just read about Doc’s death in the Morning News. I am so sad to hear of his passing. Maybe he and Jim Garner can have a grand ole time in heaven. Call me if there is anything I can do. Bless you.
O Janet, I just saw Doc’s sweet face in the obits today! I am sooooo sorry for you & your family’s loss of this wonderful man, but we all know he is in a better place.
I think of you so often, love you & miss you!
Love, Jill
I met Doc in 1948 when we both lived in Mrs. Ruhland’s boarding house on Tremont St. We later moved to Mrs. Shaw’s on Junius–closer to Harrell’s Drug Store where we often hung out.1
Doc was sort of a rascal then. Once he came to dinner in a pajama top with no sleeves. Mrs. Shaw wouldn’t feed him until he changed into a decent shirt.
I don’t think Doc ever met a stranger.
Dear Janet, David, Kelly, and Chelsea, Randy and I are so sorry for the loss of Doc. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and gentleman with a great sense of humor and twinkle in his eye! He loved you all very much and I know how much you miss him. I know that he and Daddy are in Heaven having a great time telling jokes and laughing! Love, Missy
Jane, Please accept my heart-felt condolences. Doc will be deeply missed. I will continue to pray that the Almighty gives you the heart to cope.
So sorry to hear about your loss. We have not seen you since Melba’s funeral. We lost Lacretia the same way in 2014.
Uncle Doc was admired and loved by all who knew him. I have so many memories from growing up with him. So many holidays and vacations come to mind. He was forever there for me thru the tough times in my life. There is no doubt about his love for his family. He has gone on to be with my mom and dad and the others in family who went before him. But he will never be forgotten by all those who had the great pleasure to know him. My love and prayers to Aunt Janet, David, Kelly and their families.
Our Uncle Doc will be missed not only by his family but by all those who had the opportunity to know this great man. He certainly inspired me to be where I am today and will continue to do so from up above. I love you and miss you!
What a wonderful life he had and so accomplished . I know Kevin spoke so highly of him. My sincere sympathies to you and your family, Kelly. So hard to lose a Dad
Love
Sallie
Kelly, I was so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing, but you know he is in a great place, where there is no suffering. Hope you are doing Ok. RIP Doc.
What an accomplished man. Unfortunately, I never had the honor to meet him. However his beautiful daughter is a dear friend and wonderful person. Deepest sympathy Kelly to you and your family.
My dearest Janet,Kelly, and David, I met our dear Doc hiding around a corner of our house when he was taking her out on a date. Only to embaress her by “whispering” for him to kiss her!! And the fun was just to begin. Dancing with Doc and laughing “about his big feet” only gave him our nickname for him of BIG FOOT!! He had a special love for us. We knew he was going to be part of our lives and he was. He is a giant in our hearts. Prayers, love, hugs, and “dancing feet ” in heaven now. We love you all. Candace and families
So sorry for you loss, my prayers are with you and the family, love you all
Nothing but wonderfull memories. Uncle Doc was the life of any gathering you couldn’t help but enjoy yourself when you were around him he always made me feel loved it’s very hard to put into words just how much he will be missed
Dearest Janet, David & Kelly,
How can you wrap up a lifetime friendship in a note?
Doc, thanks for the memories! By now you have formed your own choir in Heaven. I’m sure it’s fabulous! Our fondest memories are singing around your bar on Teakwood; no one liked to sing more than you did, and we all left your home singing a happy tune.
Our laughter and happy times on trips, whether it was going to Ft. Worth in a SUV “does the nose come off with the glasses”, or a trip through Santa Fe to Eagle’s Nest, what fun!
Thanks for entertaining our grandson by being “napkin head” at the Trace, or going down the super slide with him at the fair. What a fun playmate you were for all ages.
You danced like Fred Astaire, and you had that twinkle in your eye for all that came into your life, especially Janet. We will be at peace knowing you are in a better place and with our Lord. Know that we will miss you, until we meet again, we will continue to love and take care of Janet “my little sis”.
Our love and prayers always,
Dolly & John Deibel
God Bless.
Worked with “DOC” in scouting for several years. A great guy.
My good buddy from the 50s, I’m sorry you are gone.
I only met Doc on two or three occasions but was taken by gregarious personality and his humorous sprit. Janet , I pray that your grief will short and I know your memories will sweet and everlasting. Gary Rogers
