Obituary
Joellen “Jodie” Casler Doremus, age 82, lost her battle with cancer on May 9, 2016 in Carrollton, Texas. The daughter of Fred and Helen Casler of Tulsa, she is survived by her sisters; Jackie Casler of Tulsa, and Julie Casler of Rogers, Arkansas. Jodie was a 1951 graduate of Union High School in Tulsa and attended Tulsa University. Joellen married John Doremus, now deceased, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and resided in marriage in Chicago, IL. Jodie is the mother of David Doremus of Harrisonburg, VA, Fred Doremus (wife, Louise) of Tampa, FL, Dede Unthank (husband, John) of Carrollton, TX and Paul Doremus (wife, Christy) of Bristow, OK. She has eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joellen lived for a time in Tulsa, Evanston and Deerfield, IL, Wagon Mound, Las Cruces and Albuquerque, NM, Fort Worth and Carrollton, TX. Jodie also served at St. Mary’s Convent in Greenwich, NY. In her long and active life, Joellen’s passions included her family, her church, sewing, gardening, her animals and animal rescue. A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, May 28th 2016 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Bentonville, Arkansas.
