Jeanne Marie Aber 1915-2013- a woman of principle and faith. In her professional life Jeanne was a college and university librarian, retiring as head librarian from the O’Neill Library at Boston College in 1983. A treasured alumna of the Ursuline Academy Class of 1933, Jeanne was an in-demand volunteer for her proof-reading skills as well as for finding the answer to any question quickly and correctly without using a computer. But her legendary status began when she discovered inside old crated boxes hundreds of shards of the 12’x 14’ stained glass window from the chapel at Old Ursuline and worked untiringly to see this 1899 window restored to its original grandeur. Jeanne died on December 2 in her style with her painted nails and sassy wig in place. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Village Chapel in Coppell on December 10 at 11am and at Ursuline Academy on January 18 at 10am. Memorials may be made to: The Ursuline Sisters of the Central Province 4900 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas Tx 75229.

What an extraordinary woman Miss Jeanne was! The ultimate Ursuline 'girl' with Serviam emblazoned on her very soul. I truly believe her spirit will forever shine in the stained glass window she cared so much about.
