Even though I will not be with you in person, I will definitely be there with you in spirit. Uncle Scottie was always a pleasure to be around and I shall miss him very much, just as I do Reagan and Sheri.
So many fond memories of your sweet family at PPBC. My favorite memory of Scottie was when he was praying just after the youth returned from camp. In his prayer he asked God to forgive the lad who put the frog in Bro Bo’s tea. I loved his humor! Much love to Janie and the
girls From Mary Alice and Jerry.
Wishing your family all my love and thoughts
A great guy and fine person. He will live on in our memories.
One of the godliest men I have ever known has gone to Heaven. We’ll miss you, Scottie, but the fruit of your life and ministry will follow you foreverx.

Janie, I was planning on coming to DFWNC but I completely understand.
I remember you so well from Trinity Heights, and I REALLY remember working with Scottie at A&P Wynnewood during high school. He was always smiling.
Love, Jerry Keen.
PS. I don’t know if you ever knew but I lost my Ruth in 2014 to Alzheimer’s after 56 years of marriage. I will be praying for you and your family.
Scotty and I met when my family moved from New Orleans the Irving and I ended up being in his School bday School class. He befriended me a in mediately, and his Sally and our daughter also became friends, Few people I have know made a greater Impression on me. …Janie and family Pat and I will be unable to attend the memorial service at the VA Cemetary, but eventually Pat and I also plan to be buried there as well…Finally, few Christians have consistently brought more effective influence in all of life than Scottie Ashley. He had the opportunity AND he graciously took a stand for. Christ and His gospel message.
Scottie will be missed by everyone. We enjoyed his visits to our house for massages. He is at peace with the Lord. May memories warm the hearts of all who loved and know him. RIP Scottie.
Mr. Ashley was a fixture in my years at PPBC. Always smiling, serving the Lord gladly. You will be missed down here.
Janie I often think of Scottie and the time we shared in the accounting office, I always considered Scottie to be a dear friend. A truly good person and family man who lived by the teaching of his faith.
We loved seeing Scotties sweet smile in his balcony first row pew. What a nice greeting to start our worship time. We are so sad for your loss but his life made a Godly difference in so many lives. He will be missed.
Scottie loved Jesus, evangelism, and those serving the poor. He was well educated, but down to earth and could relate to people on the margins. All who knew him will miss his gentle demeanor. Janie, we are heart broken over your loss.
So sorry we missed Scottie’s final days here on earth. Leon and I were so blessed to meet and worship with Scottie and Janie on Sunday mornings. Such wonderful people, kind and special. How wonderful that he is in Heaven waiting for his family and the rest of us.
