Atteberry, Gregg L.
Obituary
Gregg was born in Dallas Texas June 19, 1961. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday June 22, 2020 in Dallas at the age of 59. Gregg grew up in Lancaster, Texas, attending Lancaster High School, graduating in 1979. He worked in his family’s floor covering business, Atteberry Carpet Company, where he was an incredible salesman. He truly enjoyed working with his brothers. Gregg also worked as a shrimper on his family’s shrimp boats in Rockport, Texas. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing, with plans to move to Lake Fork and start a fishing guide service with his brother, Paul, whom he lived with in Duncanville, Texas at the time of his death. Gregg deeply loved his family and was in the process of starting a nonprofit to honor his late brother Bruce Wayne Atteberry who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. Gregg also wanted to take children with cancer fishing and give them a special day at the lake. He told his big brother Bruce before his passing that he wanted to make him proud. Gregg had a huge heart and a beautiful smile. He rededicated his life to Christ in 2019. Gregg leaves behind a sister, Karen Jean Schorlemer (Bob) of DeSoto, Texas; brothers, Paul Stuart Atteberry of Duncanville, Texas, Scott Wesley Atteberry of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Troy Dean Atteberry Cedar Hill, Texas; stepsister, Devra Rose of Red Oak, Texas; sister in law, Margaret Atteberry of Duncanville, Texas; nephews, Michael Atteberry and Troy Atteberry Jr.; nieces, Morgan West (Thomas), Brooke Chandler (Kieth), Brittany Atteberry, Jessica Allison (Nick), Allison Brown, Nicole Atteberry, and Rachael Atteberry. Gregg was extremely close to his two special aunts Shirley Wheeler Ivy (Billy) and Judy Wheeler Williams. A Private Burial will be held at a later date.
