July 10, 1965 - November 18, 2020
David Jury Boone passed peacefully from his temporary life on earth into his eternal life in Heaven on November 18, 2020. His family is comforted by the knowledge that the next eyes he saw after he drifted off to sleep were those of His Heavenly Father, in whose comforting arms he now lies.
Born on July 10, 1965 in Louisville, Kentucky to Daniel J. Boone and Sheri F. Boone, the family of five, including his brother Michael and sister Sheridan, moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1970, settling in Dallas in the summer of 1972, the city David proudly called home. In 1983, David graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory of Dallas where he made treasured, life-long bonds with his classmates, carrying those friendships into his adult years until his death.
His continuing education took him to Charlottesville, Virginia, and the University of Virginia, where he pledged the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, ultimately receiving a B.A. in Foreign Affairs in 1987. When his dreams of becoming a real-life James Bond did not materialize, David set his sights on a career in sales, working for companies such as Nabisco and Jolt Cola before finally finding his niche in the medical uniform sector. David worked as an account manager for a few of the biggest names in the industry, such as Landau and Cherokee, for almost 25 years, making many friends and gaining the respect of customers, bosses and co-workers alike.
He met Cindy in 1993, they married in 1996, and in 2000, welcomed a son, Quinn and daughter, Ashley the following year. David loved his children fiercely and was extremely active in their lives, re-arranging his busy travel schedule in order to attend every play, school meeting and sporting event throughout the years.
As a member of the St. Rita Catholic Community, he combined his passion for sports and helping others by coaching youth baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball and football for his children’s various teams for over a decade. He touched countless lives with his soft, calm and fair demeanor.
Along with his fondness for trivia and love of sports, David was quite the social creature and a master of one-liners. His infectious, witty nature not only got him some laughs along the way but into hot water with a teacher or two in high school. He acquired many friends, never met a stranger and loved a good joke; sharing his humorous outlook on life with all he encountered.
David’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the people who have shown such love and compassion toward him, especially in recent years. Their displays of friendship have touched his loved ones immensely. They would also like to thank all who have reached out in support, sharing funny memories and lifting their hearts during this most difficult time.
David is survived by his adored children Quinn Jury Boone and Ashley Sheridan Boone and their mother Cindy; mother Sheri Boone; father Dan Boone and step-mother Carole; brother Michael and wife Debbie; sister Sheridan Angus; in-laws Bert and Harriet Chamberlain, Meg and Darrell Adkins and Richard and Johanna Chamberlain; beloved nieces and nephews Jennifer Boone, Michael, Jr., and Katie Boone, Avery, Kenzie and Shelby Angus, Lindsey, Taylor, Hailey and Blake Adkins; as well as numerous cousins, extending to Rome, Italy, and friends all over the country.
A Memorial Mass for David will be held on the morning of Thursday, December 3, at 11:00 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road; Dallas, Texas 75220. The service can be streamed and watched live: www.youtube.com/c/stmonicacatholicchurch
