Paul and Debbie,

Cody left me with many special memories that I will always remember. It is with so much pain that I send my deepest condolences to you for your loss. He was an extremely special young man that I was extremely fond of and I truly will miss him. It is going to take some time to get thru this for me, as I feel like I have lost one of my own, and I cannot imagine the pain that you must be experiencing with your loss. I am grateful to know such a precious family as yours. Kevin is another fine young man, and you must be so proud of Lauren, also. The memorial was such a blessing in many ways. The battle with alcoholism that Cody fought was used by God on the day of the memorial. We have had many people share with us, and one particular woman has come back to the support group because of Cody’s passing. We want you to know that we will always be here for you and your family. We know that God put your family in our life for a very special time and reason. We love you and know that no amount of words can relieve the pain that only God Almighty can heal. He is an ever-present help in times such as this. With our deepest condolences, Laura Hicks

Dear Cody’s family – I was so shocked and devastated to hear about Cody’s death. My family and I had gotten to know Cody over the three years we went to a support group together. I was always happy to see Cody there. He was so down to earth and so funny (he had a great sense of self-deprecating humor). He always made me laugh, and there were times when I really needed it. He was always willing to help people, too. When I lost my job once, he tried to help me get a job at the company he worked for; and when another lady in our group was going through a hard time, he spent his time after the meeting trying to help her and sharing resources with her that he had used in the past. This last time Cody “slipped” it was such a shock to me because he seemed to be the happiest he had ever been since I’d known him. We were some of his biggest cheerleaders, so we were happy for him, too. Cody was the kind of person who adds to your life by being in it. I will miss him. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. I am so sorry for the loss of your son, your brother and your grandson. Thank you for sharing him with us. God bless. Love, Lindsay

Dear Family of Cody, Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of dear Cody. Debbie, I am the guide dog raiser that Cody new. We talked so much about the dog at Naaman Forest and how you were involved. He was so proud of you and the rest of the family. I saw him make such great strides in his personal life. He was an inspiration to all who new him. I really loved your sweet son and miss him very much. You raised an awesome son and pray this memory will sustain you and your family. As was mentioned by his Uncle, at the memorial service, Cody is in a better place now and no longer suffers the trials of this earth. I do realize that the living still are left to grieve – he was a precious person. We are all grieving the loss of sweet Cody and your family is in my prayers as you go through this difficult time. Excellent customer service, they made you feel like you were their only customer. Very helpful and explained what we should expect during the process. They basically took care of our needs during this time. They contacted DFW National Cemetery for us which made it a smooth experience. Definitely will use them again.
