Curran, Elizabeth "Betty"
Obituary
The family of Elizabeth “Betty” Wagner Curran announces with great sadness the passing of their beloved mother on January 14, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, Betty went on to graduate from the Academy of Mount Saint Vincent High School in Tuxedo Park, NY and Trinity College in Washington, DC. After college she worked as a secretary for the CIA. It was in DC where she met the love of her life Jack P Curran who was attending Georgetown Dental School. They married in 1954 and moved to Norwalk CT where they resided for 35 years and raised 4 children. As her children grew older Betty became a licensed real estate broker. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed dancing, playing bridge and golf. In 1990, Betty and Jack retired to Skidaway Island in Savannah, GA. In her retirement Betty became a Lifemaster bridge player, founded a dancing troupe called the Savannah Strutters and made a hole in one playing golf. The most important things to Betty were family, friends and faith. She was a loving wife, a loving mother, a loving grandmother and the favorite aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Betty is survived by her sons Jack, Paul (Marilen) and Robert. Grandchildren John Mobley, Chris Mobley and Paul Curran. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2003, brother Chester Wagner, sister Mary Lou Landry, daughter Jane Mobley Zehringer and grandson Gregory Mobley. Due to Covid restrictions services will be private. The family asks that those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

I am sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. She and my Mom, Betty Ann Harris, were friends for many years in CT. My Mom passed away the day after Betty on January 15 2021. I am sure they were overjoyed to see one another in the heavenly hereafter. My condolences for your loss
Hugging you tight dear Paul and Marilen…my deepest sympathies to the Curran family and prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of Betty…
