Diaz, Virginia S.
Obituary
Age 65, of Richarson, Texas passed away on June 25, 2013. Pudita, Kapucha, Round One, Booger Baby, and Tu-tu are all the names I called my beloved sister, Virginia Sue. As a child, she was known as Cuckoo, probably name by our father Herbert for her antics. Our sister Patricia often told her she was adopted. She was a graduate of Adamson High School and received a teaching certificate from Texas Women’s University. She worked as a graphic artist at The Color Place, where she met her partner of thirty years, Martha Nolan, until she retired on disability. Trips to the McCommas Landfill in her little red truck often resulted in stops at Alligator Jack’s. She lived her last nine years at The Villages at Richardson because of a stroke. Her gift to the world was laughter; she could always make people laugh. How the world will miss that laughter now. She is freed from a body that no longer served her well and is probably raising hell with our youngest sister, Rose Marie, who died in October 2012. Run and play, Baby Sister, run and play. Virginia is survived by sisters Julia Diaz Bly and Patricia Flick; nieces Ann Marie Tew and Jessica Mahoney; great nephew Austin Tew and great niece Beatrice Mahoney.

We both loved this woman and enjoyed working with her in the late 70’s and 80’s. Funny, hard working, big heart.
R.I.P.MY FRIEND…
Many good memories over the years working with Virgina. I’ll say a prayer for you.
My therapy dog Judy and I visited with Virginia many times over the years Virginia was at The Village–Judy loved Virginia and always pulled on the leash to get in and see her. Both of us will miss her, and hope that she is romping with all her dogs at the Rainbow Bridge now as well.
