Obituary

Dorothy Ann (Ferguson) Freydberg was born at home to Raymond and Mildred
Ferguson on October 23, 1933, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Dotty passed away
peacefully on November 16, 2021, in Carrollton, Texas of natural causes.
She was married to her husband Bill Sr. for 52 years until his passing in 2009. She
was the proud mother of three children, eight grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren. Left to carry on her fun-loving legacy are her children Bill
Freydberg, Jr (Eileen), Jenny Woelffer (Gale), Dixie Pennington (Brian).
Grandchildren: Cam Aukeman (Aja), Tanner Freydberg, Tess Freydberg (Drew),
Hannelore Joost (Patrick), Noelle Pennington, Konrad Woelffer, Quinn Woelffer,
Cara Woelffer. Great grandchildren: Liesel Joost, Kurt Joost, and Hayes Aukeman.
Dotty was very proud of being a lifelong Texan attending Obadiah Knight
Elementary school then North Dallas High School, graduating with honors in 1951
as a National Honor Society member. After her marriage to Bill, Sr in 1957 she
lived in the Brookhaven Country Club area for 48 years. During these years she
was active in Farmers Brach PTA at the schools her children attended. She was
room mother every year for her children. For her willingness to be available and
never say “no” for any PTA job, she was awarded a Texas Life Membership. She
was proud both of her daughters received the same award. She was also active in
St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Farmers Branch Woman’s Club who awarded
her a life membership in 2012. Dotty enjoyed the many activities in Woman’s Club
and her lifelong Bunco group which stared in 1966 and continued until her move
to assisted living in early 2020. When not spending time with her extended family
and lifelong friends, she loved a good salty, rimmed margarita while playing slots
in Vegas or Ruidoso. Always a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan she was enjoying the
exciting 2021 season. Her other interests included reading, watching soaps,
games shows and following the latest celebrity news and movies.
Anyone who knew Dotty would hope that when she entered the “promised land”
she would be greeted by her loved ones and Elvis.
The family will have a private celebration of life. Memorial contributions in
Dotty’s honor can be made to Caring Pathways of Carrollton 2150 N. Josey Lane

So many wonderful and enjoyable days together. My best friend. Dotty was always ready to venture into a new restaurant. We often ate at Red Lobster and I’m glad to say we ordered the most expensive meal available. We traveled together to Galveston four different times. We also made a road trip to Florida. and when Elvis was at the Cotton Bowl, we sure went to that. I will miss you dear friend and I am sure our spirits will again meet and we can rejoice together with families and other friends.

Aunt Dottie was always special to me and I have many wonderful memories of every visit over our lives. One of my earliest memories was as a 10 year old at the lake house….Billy and I shooting bottle rockets at each other with Uncle Bills golf club tubes to launch them while Auntie runs out telling us not to hurt each other as she laughed her heart out…..She will be missed.
RIP Auntie – sending you a big hug and kiss and all my love.

Sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was very active in many things. She & her family were blessed that she was able to enjoy her busy schedule for so long.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
