October 20, 1923 - March 15, 2013
Ray Griffin was born on October 20, 1923 in deep East Texas in a simple cabin with a dirt floor. He grew and showed a talent for music and for business. As a teenager Ray joined the Navy Air Force during World War II. After his service days he got a Masters Degree in Music, played trombone professionally, married and had a family with a son, Steve and two daughters, Tasca and Suzanna. In his 89 year life Ray worked successfully as everything from a chicken farmer to an Oil & Gas developer.
Ray lived a life of joy and faith. He smiled, hugged and cherished his friends and family. He was a strong Christian, a Bible Scholar and teacher. He spent his years eagerly working to improve his life and that of those around him. He dearly loved telling a good joke, and getting you to smile back. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sharon, his children, Steve, Tasca and Suzanna, his step-sons, David and Michael, and his grandchildren, Mason, Taylor, Derek, Alicia, Rachel, Sydney, Alicia, Sarah, Ayden and Katy.
This Saturday there will be a celebration of Ray’s life, and his graduation to go live with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The service will be at three o’clock with his Cornerstone Christian Church family on the campus of Dallas Christian College at 2700 Christian Parkway.
