Haas, Marian Jeanne
Obituary
Marian Jeanne Haas, 91, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Marian was born and raised in Wisconsin, and moved to Texas in 2015, to be close to family. She had a clear mind and a joyous, laugher-filled spirit up to her final moments. In her early years, Marian was a fashion model and a photographer, with added skills in colorizing portrait photography. Throughout her life, she was an acclaimed, prize-winning artist, using watercolor, oil, and etchings to produce work which sold nationwide. She was represented at galleries in Door County, and Martha’s Vineyard. As a charter founder of the Parkwood Hills Garden Club, she designed their logo and cover art. A life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she created celebratory banners, which graced the sanctuary on Holy Days. Her other memberships included the Madison Art Guild and Print Club. She served as ward chairman for elections for over 10 years, working tirelessly for accuracy and inclusivity for voters. Marian adored travel, and visited all of Europe, as well as Korea, as a member of the Friendship Force. Her love of adventure took her to almost every state, but her most beloved destination was Door County. She is survived by her daughter Candace Evans, granddaughters Sonja Jeanne Johnson and Heidi Louise Cuellar, and great-granddaughters Emily Madeleine and Allison Isabelle. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex, her parents Albert and Eva, and her sister, Neva.
A celebration of life for Marian will be held in Dallas, at a later date.
Memorial donations in Marian’s name may be sent to Small Paws Rescue, an organization from which her daughter adopted a dog that she adored.
