Obituary
Mary Jane Hayden Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died peacefully surrounded by family on May 10, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born on September 17, 1914 in Janesville, Wisconsin and graduated from Edgewood College. On April 7, 1942, she married Joseph J. Hayden. Following his overseas services as a Naval officer in WW II, they began a lifelong career with General Motors, living in many cities in the midwest and south. They were living in Birmingham, MI when Joseph died in 1969 and Mary Jane stayed in the Michigan area for over 30 years. She also worked for GM after her husband’s death retiring after 10 years. In 2000 she moved to the Atria in Richardson, Texas as one of their first residents and remained there until her move to San Remo this past October. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and eldest daughter, Sheila. She is survived by her daughter, Mary and husband Kenneth Pouch of West Hartford, CT and sons, Joseph and wife Donna Hayden of Plano, TX, and Thomas and wife Margaret Hayden of Dallas, TX. Granddaughters include: Stephanie Kohn, Nichole York, Carolyn Pouch, Kathryn Pouch, and one grandson, Kenneth Pouch, in addition to 10 Great-Grandchildren. Mary Jane was a proper and gracious lady who will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to her family and friends. Visitation and Rosary May 16, 2013 at 10:00 am followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave., Dallas, TX 75214. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ARC of Texas or a charity of your choice .
