Jerry Vaughn McMichael

August 19, 1935 - April 16, 2022

Jerry Vaughn McMichael Born August 19, 1935, and left this world to his true heavenly home April 16, 2022

Jerry was the loving husband of Emma Ann Steelman McMichael and proud father of James Thomas McMichael who preceded him to his Lord Jesus Christ’s presence. While on this earth Jerry looked forward to reuniting with both as well as his beautiful grand-daughter Danielle Marie Westbrook and other special family members, friends, mentors, teachers, and fellow members of the Body of Christ from around the world that have preceded him.

He was preceded in death by his “Mamaw” Bonnie Elizabeth Farmer and parents, Thomas McMichael, and Eunice Viola Vaughan McMichael, two sisters Madeline and Patricia, and in-laws James and Elizabeth Steelman.

Jerry was born in Linden, Texas and was born again as a follower of Jesus Christ when 9 years old at an itinerant tent revival. He was so loved and cared for by his grandmother or “Mamaw,” and he credits her with growth, guidance, and encouragement of his interest in scouting where he achieved Eagle Scout. He was a proud Scotsman by heritage and member of the United States Naval Air serving as an aircraft navigator. Jerry was ordained to preach by Dr. R.G. Lee in Memphis, Tennessee where he met and married his beautiful wife Ann of over 50 years.

Jerry was grateful for his years of work in teaching, engineering, national defense, pastoring, and authoring a multitude of Christian collections, commentaries, and blogs on sites viewed around the world.

Jerry McMichael is survived by a sister Jean Neely, and three daughters Elizabeth Ann Brunson, Eunice Ann Duckett, and Jerri Ann Westbrook. The daughters’ loving husbands include Tori Duckett and Chuck Westbrook. They are proud parents of Jerry’s grandchildren Josh and Bryony Gentry, Terry and Mariah Richards, Kalem and Kierstene Duckett, Quincy and Lauren Westbrook, Lauren McMichael, and Katie and Colton Davis.

Surviving great-grandchildren of Jerry and Ann includes Graeson and Ryland Gentry, Emma, Dylan, Jimmy, and Ella Richards, Payton, Harleigh, and Holston Duckett, and Gat and Huddee Westbrook.

The family would like to thank Tom and Ese Ohonba of Nestra Quality Adult Care and AlevCare Hospice for their professional and loving care of Jerry McMichael in his last peaceful week of life on this earth. You were a special gift from the Lord to Jerry and to us as we said our goodbyes here on this earth. Thank you, words are not enough. We look forward to our celebratory reunion above.

Excellent customer service, they made you feel like you were their only customer. Very helpful and explained what we should expect during the process. They basically took care of our needs during this time. They contacted DFW National Cemetery for us which made it a smooth experience. Definitely will use them again.
