King, Rebecca

Martha Rebecca Needham King, born September 3, 1940, in Houston to Billy and Roberta Needham passed away March 4, 2018, in Dallas at the age of 77.  A beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and to anyone who knew her would say she had a vibrant & contagious smile.  Known as a “Hostess with the Mostest”, she was a homemaker extraordinaire, coordinator and lifeline to the Goff Clan, teacher of Sunday school, GA’s, Acteens, VBS, Young Women, Camp Counselor, Youth Group, and Longtime adult SS leader.  She became a mentor to young Moms at MOPS when she moved to Sierra Vista Arizona in 2010.  Her daughters would say “Being born to a handicapped mom was the greatest blessing they could have ever received. She instilled in them faith in God, strength and endurance, patience and tender loving care for others”.  She counted the “girdies” as gifts, but to them she was their greatest gift. Her courage, bravery, love, and strength could certainly be an inspiration to everyone.  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kimberly Wyant, Christy Spencer and Robin Ashmore; sister and brother-in-law, Billie Ann and Lynn Hayes; grandchildren, Garrett, Casey, Ben (Tyler), Luke (Madisson), Colton, and Caitlyn; great grandchildren, Haylea, Logan, Scarlett, Cade and Paisley; nephews, Barry (Donnell and Michael Lynn) and Bryan Hayes.

Kim, Christy, Robin---Becky was one of a kind. Always smiling and having a good time, outwardly; but I'm sure not always inwardly. I'm so sorry, we were unable to be at the memorial service; but you all are in our thoughts. Becky will be missed by all the old friends of Lake Highlands Church & the good times Becky coordinated thru the years.
Much love, The Willinghams

I first met Becky when I was pre-teen and that was the beginning of a lifetime friendship that taught me many life long lessons. Becky was a good listener. never judgemental with a special grace about her that was obvious God given. She could out shop me, out talk me,out sing me, out cook me but I could always make her laugh. She once said to me, after a long outing,"Tracy I am handicapped." To that I told her no one that knows you Becky sees you as handicapped. That was the truth of it. Becky loved her family and friends unconditionally; she loved and served the Lord. She is with Him; no more crutches or pain; her beautiful voice restored. I love and will miss you my dear friend until we meet again. Tracy

I’ve heard great things about this woman and was hoping to meet her here; seems I’ve lost something also. Carry on and I will meet you there, Rebecca King. ❤️
