Land, Travis "TK"
Obituary
Travis Kenneth “TK” Land passed away on August 3, 2018 from complications arising from a prop plane he crashed into a barn while flying upside down. Well, that’s how he would have liked to go. The truth is he died peacefully while with immediate family and under the wonderful oversight of the Comfort Care wing of Baylor Hospital. Born January 4, 1933 TK was an expert marksman and rifle instructor in the US Marine Corp. He had a 40 career with SBC/AT&T in a variety of positions including Forecast Engineer and Area Manager of Industry Relations. One of his proudest professional accomplishments was serving on the Advisory Commission on State Emergency Communications which implemented 9-1-1 emergency telephone service for the State of Texas. But no professional accomplishment approached his love for his family. TK is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Anne, his son John and wife Kristal of Farmers Branch, Tx, grandson (and namesake) Kenneth “Kal” Land of Lubbock, granddaughter (and also a namesake) Kendall Land of Tyler, Tx. A private service will be held for immediately family only.

T.K. could do it all and do it all well. First,he could widdle the most fantstic figurines out of wood. Next,he was an outstanding golfer. Also, let’s not forget his amazing adventurous spirt. He travelled to 49 states in his favorite Toyata FourRunner. Finally, his greatest legacy was being a GREAT dad to John.
I’m going to miss you T.K.
