Landig, Nancy Ann
Obituary
Nancy Ann Rogler Landig, 90, was born to Clarence Rogler and Edna Roundy on June 10th ,1930. Nancy went to her heavenly home on November 6, 2011. Nancy, a beautiful woman, inside and out, was loved and adored by family and friends. She will be remembered for her involvement in life as a woman of God, a mother, a wife, and an exceptional friend. Nancy graduated from Marquette University in 1952 with a degree in Journalism. The same year she married her husband, Frank. Nancy spent one year as a first-grade teacher, until Frank’s work led them to Dallas, Texas. There, Nancy and Frank grew their family when her son Jeff was born. About three years later, a second son Greg was born. Nancy later worked for Ebby Halliday, at the White House in Dallas. Nancy was highly skilled and quickly became one of the ‘Top 10 Producers’ for her company. Nancy was very competitive in her tennis and bridge games. She enjoyed collecting artwork, throwing parties, gardening, and decorating the beautiful home she built and designed with her husband. Nancy was quite the seamstress also, making most of her clothes, curtains for her home, etc. Nancy was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church where she belonged to a woman’s group. Of Nancy’s favorite things were pink tulips, roses, dancing and chocolate. Some of Nancy’s favorite memories include her three yorkies, Puddin, Hoover and Punkin. Prior to her passing, Nancy so lovingly recalled that she married Frank because he was smart, handsome, and shared the same interests. She also affectionately described her granddaughter, Claire, as kind and artistic, and her grandson, Aidan, as smart and handsome. Despite Nancy’s many accomplishments, being a mother and a grandmother were two of her greatest joys. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna, her loving husband Frank. Nancy is loved and survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Cathy Landig as well as her other son, Greg and Darla Landig, her grandchildren Claire & Aidan Landig, and her best friends, Kay Blake, Julie Landig, Monica Radoszewski and Kathy Simpson. Nancy also has a sister, Joyce Trainor who currently lives in Washington DC. Joyce had 4 daughters. One of Joyce’s daughters is Patty and Peter Phalon, who live in the Dallas area. Nancy al o ha great nieces and nephews.
