Medina, Mitzie
Obituary
Heaven shone brighter on November 16, 2018 as Mitzie Medina made her angelic debut. Born in Dallas, Texas on July 23, 1953, Mitzie Sara Gonzales was born to her mother Edelmira and her father Dario Melgoza. For every place she went, she left it a little brighter and every friend she met, she left their heart a little lighter. Mitzie never met a stranger in her daily travels and never left an ingredient unused in her lifelong quest for creative culinary excellence and her love of the arts. Everything she did, she did with all her heart. Everyone she loved, she loved with all her soul. Mitzie instilled a passion and joy for life in everyone that she met. As we live each day to the fullest and march to the beat of our own drum, her spirit lives on through us all. Mitzie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Medina Sr. In life as in death, Mitzie leads the journey to heaven to illuminate the way for her surviving sisters Quina, Michele, and Valerie and her brother Daniel. Mitzie’s legacy lives on through her son and daughter-in-law Joe Medina Jr. and Janie Medina; her daughter Jacquelyn Pickel; and five beloved grandchildren Alexis, Faith, Jo Bella, Reece, and Aubren; Nieces Lauren, Taylor, Sarrah, Erica, and Megan; Nephews Derek and Elijah; Grand Nieces Emily, Athena, London, and Hera; her Uncle John and Aunt Olga Zapata, Aunt Connie, and countless cousins and friends. In life she was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Grand Aunt, and Friend and she will always be remembered as being all that we could ask for in all of them. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday November 25, 2018 from 9:30AM to 12:00PM At the Little Chapel in the Woods, 415 Chapel Drive, Denton, TX 76209.
