Obituary
Robert Eugene Orrick was born May 15, 1926, in Huntington, Arkansas, the ninth child of Arkney Jane Stanford and Roscoe Conkling Orrick. He was carried to Texas in the arms of his sisters when the Orrick family relocated on Thanksgiving Day 1926. Bob graduated valedictorian from Malakoff High School, then attended Texas A&M. He enlisted in the Army and served in Austria in 1945, before returning for his engineering degree. Bob was a proud, lifelong Aggie. He married Jane Carolyn Walters on November 21, 1950. For many years Texarkana was home as they raised their son, John Stanford Orrick. Preceded in death by his wife and son, Bob is survived by daughter-in-law Suzanne Orrick, granddaughter Hope Elizabeth Orrick, great-grandson Caleb Avery Orrick, nieces Sandra Shaw, Barbara Shaw Anderson and Virginia Griffin Brereton & nephews David Griffin, Bill Griffin and Robert Van Buren. Bob will always be remembered by family and friends for his outstanding personality, excellent conversational skills and positive demeanor. A devoted member of NorthPark Presbyterian Church, his memorial service will be held there November 6, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow in Texarkana. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to American Heart Association .
