Obituary
Richard “Rick” E. Hatchel, 68, is out of pain now because he went to be with the Lord January 9, 2022. He was born November 28, 1953, in Dallas, to J. E. and Sarah Hatchel. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1972. Following a stint in the Navy, Rick worked for Dalfort as an air frame and plant mechanic repairing airplanes. He attended Dallas College-North Lake Campus and earned an Associate Degree in telecommunications. He then spent 20 years at Southwestern Bell/AT&T, retiring in 2017. He was a member of Life Point Church in Plano. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Eloise Frayre Hatchel; sister Gayle Hatchel Triplett and husband Troy Lynn Triplett; step-mother Toni Hatchel; step-sister Teri Merrell; step-brothers John Merrell and Scott Merrell; niece Priscilla Paramo and family; and nephew Lee Kounas and family; and many cousins and friends. Because of his military service, Rick chose to be interred at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service will be 4:OOpm, Monday, February 28, 2022 at Life Point Church, 4501 Hedgecoxe Rd., Plano, TX 75024. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Life Point Church in Plano.
