Ruben F. Alvarez Sr
Obituary
Ruben F. Alvarez Sr. was born on 01/07/1953 to Francisco Alvarez and Herminia Colecio de Alvarez in Mexico City, Mexico D.F. Our lord called him home on Mon. 03/14/2022. He passed away at the age of 69. Ruben decided to come to the United States in 1980. He wanted to give his family the American dream. He would not have been able to give them that life if they stayed in Mexico. Ruben worked in construction his whole life. He loved the game of soccer. He started playing soccer around the age of 10 and continued into his late 30’s. He played as a third string backup soccer player for the professional soccer team “Cruz Azul”. His other hobbies were playing pool, shuffleboard, and the guitar. When he was a teenager in Mexico, he and his friends used to serenade on special occasions for their moms and sisters. This is where he started enjoying playing the guitar. Ruben never met a stranger that he didn’t want to be a friend. El siempre fue una persona alegre y esa alegría la trasmitía a los que lo rodeaban. Ruben F. Alvarez Sr. is processed in death by his parents: Francisco Alvarez and Herminia Colecio de Alvarez, a long list of brothers, sisters, and other family members. Ruben F. Alvarez Sr. is survived by Son: Ruben Alvarez Jr. and wife Griselda. Daughter: Laura Alvarez- Mendez and husband Ray. Grandchildren: Jordan Garcia and wife Skye, Jacob Garcia, Jayden Garcia, and Victoria Alvarez. Brother: Armando Alvarez and Sister: Antonia Alvarez and a long list of nieces, nephews, friends and family. Ruben F. Alvarez Sr. will be missed by many, until we see each other again, we love you dad! Tus hijos, Ruben & Laura.
