Mike was working at Hank Dickerson during my first summer job. He was upbeat and positive. We enjoyed our HP/SMU connections and traded stories whenever we could. I am glad to have known Mike.

Mike joined our Hospitality Ministry group at St. Rita the Fourth Quarter of 2010. He was a good man who had a kind word for everyone. When he wasn’t serving, he would volunteer to help – even if he wasn’t well. His unselfish spirit was an example for all of us. He will be missed.

Mike, You are gone; but never forgotten. Joe and I cherished your friendship…I never knew you as “Maddog”, certainly wish I had…I got a “Chuckle” out of that; as I read your Obit…You were the Greatest friend to us…and you will be sorely missed. Rest in the “Loving Arms or Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” I know you will have so many Great Conversations with Him. What an exceptionally Good Man you were…I know Kathryn and Torie are so very proud of their Dad.

We have Mike to thank for teaching both of our children in his first year of swim classes water safety and later swimming . As tough an instructor as he was on both my scared, screaming and crying 2 year old and a 3 year old, he always ended the class giving them his huge smile, a big hug and a box of raisins. Rest in peace, Mike. You will remain treasured in our hearts.

To say that I am proudly sad is an understatement. Mike was such an amazing person…my first serious boyfriend at a Highland Park HS; my good friend at low points throughout my life; three if my kids’ swimming coach; I will miss him terribly and feel so very fortunate that I knew him. Thoughts and prayers with his family. Rest in peace, Mike…liove, Nan

I knew Mike through his sister, Johnna, who was a good family friend from Highland Park schools. A few years ago, my wife and I renewed Mike’s acquaintance when we were raising money for the Park Cities YMCA several years on the same team.

Mike was an upbeat, positive, and very engaging person, and I know he will be sorely missed by friends and family.

    R.I.P., Mike.

Over the last few years Mike had become a close friend to myself and my son Spencer… I often saw him at the V.A. and he was in our home frequently… Speaking for myself, Spencer and Ginger we will forever miss his smiling face and good will… God’s speed Mile.

Mike, I want to thank you for your friendship and assistance over the years. I never had an issue that you were not there for myself nor my family. I only wish that I had spent more time with you in recent years. Rest peacefully, my friend.

Mike and Webb. Both too young to go, God must have needed Mike’s expertise in wheeling and dealing and Webb’s resonant voice and magic fingers. My heart goes out to Kathryn and Torie. Your Dad was truly one of a kind and we loved him.

Our hearts are saddened by the loss of such a great man, father, friend and contributor to the swimming community in North Texas. A true family friend and supporter until the very end. Mike’s daughters need to know how much Mike was respected and admired by the Sacco family. Now all of us that knew Mike and his love for swimming will have a guardian angel swimmer watching over us. Our sympathy and condolences to Katherine and Tori.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
