Obituary

William R. “Bill” Clark, 79, of Frisco, TX, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022 after a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. Bill and his twin brother, Dick, were born on September 15, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN to their parents, George & Willie (Allen) Clark. Bill grew up to be a talented offensive guard and defensive cornerback for the Red Bank Lions, winning the Rebel Bowl in 1959. After graduating from high school, Bill went on to study accounting at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Bill later earned his Masters of Accounting at TCU. In 1965, Bill joined the U.S. Army and attended Officer Candidate School at Ft. Knox, KY and Aberdeen Proving Ground, MA. After training at Ft. Lee, VA, he was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX as a First Lieutenant, where he met and married the lovely Claudia Fulwiler of Belton, TX. They wed at the Post Chapel on June 21, 1968. Following his exit from the service, Bill and Claudia moved to Ft. Worth, where he worked as an accountant for General Dynamics. Bill and Claudia moved back to Killeen, TX in 1972, when Bill joined the team at Lott, Vernon & Co. as a CPA and later as a partner. In his 30 years with them, Bill proudly served the community as a tax and financial advisor to hundreds of local residents and business clients. Bill was a long-time member and past president of the Exchange Club and served many years as the treasurer of the Killeen chapter of AUSA (Association of the U.S. Army). After retirement, Bill joined the board of the Bell County Museum. Bill and Claudia were members of the First Baptist Church of Killeen for over 40 years, before moving to Frisco to be closer to family. In his spare time, there was nothing that made Bill happier than fishing. Some of his favorite memories were times spent fishing with friends and family on the Colorado, White and Yellowstone Rivers. Bill enjoyed learning about American history and family genealogy. He was proud to be a member of the First Families of Tennessee and Texas and to discover that his ancestor, James Collinsworth, signed the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. Bill also loved to travel with his family, visiting all 50 states and over 40 National Parks during his lifetime. Anyone who knew Bill knew that his family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife of 53-years, Claudia Clark of Frisco, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Roger Wright of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Amy Clark of Lewisville, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Doris Clark of Waynesboro, VA; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Katie and Lance Moore of Hoover, AL; grandson, Andy Peek of Cleveland, TN; granddaughter Georgia Clark of Lewisville, TX; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his mother, father and brother, Donald. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Bill’s honor to the Bell County Museum or the First Baptist Church of Killeen. The family is planning a celebration of life for Bill this summer with details coming at a later date. Messages of condolence can be left at https://ariacremation.com/obituary/.

Your sweet daddy was so fortunate to have such a beautiful loving family that adored him. All of you did your very best to make sure he was very well taken care of through his struggles with Parkenson’s and I know he passed knowing how very loved he was and that’s such a gift.

    Claudia and Amy,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of one of my most favorite people in this world. Bill was one of the finest, most caring, and gentlest men I’be had the privilege to know. I also remember him as an encourager. He always saw the bright side of matters. ANed what brilliance. Whwnever i had a question or concern about anything ralated to money he was always ready to sit and talk me through it. I will miss Bill but look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
