Zweiban, Sofia "Sue"

Sofia “Sue” Zweiban, born December 27, 1947, passed away October 22, 2020 at the age of 72.  Sue immigrated to the US from Sweden, becoming a US citizen in 1959.  She grew up in the Bronx, NY and earned an undergraduate and master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the City College of New York.  In the early 70’s she moved to Texas.  At a community singles event at the Jewish Community Center, she met Glenn Zweiban.  On June 13, 1976, they were married at Congregation Sherith Israel in Dallas.  In 1977, their first daughter Shannon was born, followed by Lauren in 1979.  Sue worked as a speech pathologist as well as other corporate jobs prior to opening a jewelry store in Plano, Texas with Glenn.  After 14 years of business, both Glenn and Sue decided to close their store and retire.  It took only a few months until Sue became bored, so she enrolled back into school (in her 50’s).  She graduated with a BS in Paralegal Studies and began working for a renowned Bankruptcy Lawyer in Dallas.  In 2013 she finally retired.  She spent the last 7 years enjoying her retirement, taking Caribbean Cruises with her friends, supporting Native American conservation by way of Winstar and Choctaw and watching her three grandchildren grow into beautiful humans.  In recent years, she was an avid true crime junkie.  The Discovery ID channel would have folded if it weren’t for her watching 24/7.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Zweiban; parents, Juda & Ethel Topper; sister in law, Donna Price.  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Shannon & husband David Richard, Lauren Wiley and David Wiley; grandchildren, Jessica Wiley, Justin Wiley and Glenna Richard; sister, Paula & husband Irwin Kerber; brother in law, Harry Price; many extended family and dear friends.
