February 2, 1941 - February 1, 2021
Jerry Lee Peek passed away February 1st. He lived 80 full years, yet spent the day of his birth in Heaven. He was born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa where he graduated from Marshalltown High School and met the love of his life. He received his bachelors degree in marketing and sales from Arizona State University and went on to a career which took him all across the country. He spent much of his career with Control Data Corporation, moving his family from Arizona to California, several cities in Ohio; Dallas, Texas; and Rockville, Maryland. Once both kids were in college, his career took him to companies such as Aptec Computer Systems Inc, Harris Computer Systems, and Sun Microsystems where he grew his position from a Branch Sales Manager to a Government Sales Manager, and finally to a Federal Account Executive. After spending years in Oregon and Arizona, he completed his career in Dallas, Texas so he and his wife could be near their grown children.
He enjoyed years of golfing, loved slapstick humor with his favorite movies, and loved reading Tom Clancy, John Grisham and Vince Flynn. He was able to travel to places such as Japan, Germany, England, Australia, and Mexico, yet his best time was spent at home with his family.
Married nearly 57 years, and together 62, he is lovingly survived by his wife Margaret, his son Scott Peek and wife Janet Peek of Plano, Texas; daughter Kristi Bell and husband Alec Bell of Plano, Texas; sister Judy Hickman and husband Russell Hickman of Frisco, Texas: and brother John Peek and wife Bonnie Peek of Waukee, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents Kermit and Marjorie Peek of Marshalltown, Iowa.
